Wear Red Day
Friday, February 25, 2022
February is National Heart Disease Awareness month. Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women. Every year, 1 in 4 deaths in the U.S. is a result of heart disease according to the CDC. Heart Disease is often preventable by making better lifestyle choices.
The Wellness Center staff started Wear Red Day in our community in February of 2014. This event was initiated in an effort to recognize Heart Disease Awareness month, educate the community on the importance of prevention, and support the victims of heart disease in our community through our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
The CRMC Cardiac Rehab program serves those who have had heart related events including heart attacks, bypass surgery, stents, chronic heart failure, and heart replacement, which is covered by most insurance carriers. Sometimes insurance just doesn't cover it all and patients need a little extra financial assistance to help cover the cost. We provide help through our Cardiac Rehab Scholarship.
Through events such as Wear Red Day T-shirt sales and the Heart2Heart Run/Walk, we raise money to support the Cardiac Rehab Scholarship. Your support helps give back to your community, friends, and family through the scholarship. We appreciate your generosity and kindness as we continue to try Save Lives one at time!
